Scrambling and Navigation Week | North Wales

Our scrambling and Navigation week is aimed at the hillwalker who is confident walking in the mountains but looking to learn the skills needed to move onto steeper ground where a rope is not required, but a good range of skills and techniques are. You will also learn how to develop your footwork and build confidence so you feel less nervous on exposed terrain. 

During the course we will cover.

• Planning your route and choosing the appropriate scramble
• Scrambling grades and what they mean. 
• Weather forecasts and sources
• Movement and footwork masterclass
• Route reading and how to navigate a scramble
• Navigation fundamentals
• Using apps and maps to navigate
• Compass use to determine direction.

This five day course is a great opportunity to get out into the mountains for a week and explore the amazing mountains of Eryri / Snowdonia.
